TF1 launches VOD on Facebook

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has made its video-on-demand service, TF1 Vision, available via Facebook, the first European broadcaster to do so. The company has launched its Social VOD service simultaneously in Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland, allowing users to pay to access shows.

Users can also allow their friends to rent shows and initiate discussions with them. The first show to be made available in this way is French comedienne Florence Foresti’s Fucking Mother, available from the artist’s own Facebook page for €3.99 or 60 Facebook credits, with a 30% share going to Facebook.
