German cable operator Kabel BW ended March with 308,000 pay TV subscribers after adding 98,000 during the previous 12 months. The total sub base was 47% higher than it was a year earlier.
The operator said its success in pay TV was down to a growing apptite for HD services and its relationship with pay TV operator Sky Deutschland, which sees it providing its customers with internet and telephony services along with Skys pay TV packages. ItÂs own pay TV package Mein TV is also proving popular.
Kabel BW also saw growth in internet and telephony customers. Combined, the services attracted 174,000 customers in the 12 monthes ending March, to a total of 705,000. The operatorÂs total customer base stood at 2.368 million at the end of March, up from 2.316 million a year ealier. Kabel BW said 30% of susbcribers take triple-play package.
