TV3 strikes 3D soccer deal with BSkyB

Catalan free-to-air broadcaster TV3 will distribute this weekend’s Champions League soccer final in 3D in cinemas across the Spanish region.

It will take UK pay TV operator BSkyB’s 3D pictures of the final, which takes place at the Wembley stadium in London this Saturday and features Catalan team Barcelona and English team Manchester United.

TV3 has the local rights and will distribute the final to 22 Catalan cinemas, to about 7,500 people. The 3D cinema screenings will be live and in tandem with the TV3’s regular TV coverage on the main TV3 and the TV3 HD channels.
