Nilsson and Gofman get wider roles as Bengtsson leave MTG

MTG has given two of its senior executives wider roles after Ulrik Bengtsson announced he was leaving the Scandinavian-focused free and pay TV group.

Bengtsson joined as CEO of Viasat Sweden in August 2004 and has been CEO of pay TV emerging markets since January 2008. MTG said he was leaving for family reasons. COO Anders Nilsson has been given responsibility for the company’s pay TV operations in the Baltic region. Nilsson has been at MTG for 19 years and already oversees the company’s free TV operations in the Baltics.

Meanwhile, Irena Goffman, CEO of MTG Russia and CIS, will now also oversee the group’s CEE and emerging markets pay TV business and its satellite platform in Ukraine. The executives new, expanded roles take effect from the end of the month.
