Teleste strikes deal for German upgrade

Finnish cable technology company Teleste has struck a deal with Hamburg-based Immomedianet, a joint venture between cable operator Tele Columbus and local housing associations, for the upgrade of cable networks to 13,200 apartments in Germany.

Teleste will upgrade the access networks serving the apartments from 450MHz to 862MHz to provide multimedia and internet services. The contract is valued at about €1.4 million.
