CTC Media buys into Russia’s TV Salute


Nasdaq-listed Russian broadcaster CTC Media has acquired 67% of lifestyle channel operator TV Salute.

CTC paid RUB47 million (€1.2 million) for the company, which operates in the Omsk region. CTC noted that this was its third acquisition this year – it has already bought TV operations in the city of Tomsk and made another acquisition allowing it to spread its operations into the Samara region – and that the TV Salute deal allows it to reach an additional 460,000 viewers.
