Portuguese pay TV operator Zon has been criticized by media regulator ANACOM for misleading the public over digital switchover.
Specifically, the regulator said Zon had claimed that residents in Alenquer would only be able to receive terrestrial channels by subscribing to its pay TV service. The region is set to switch off analogue signals on May 12. Zon had allegedly carried misleading adverts on a number of its kiosks in Alenquer.
ANACOM said it would take firm action against this kind of miselling, and reiterated that the terrestrial channels are free.
