Swisscoms IPTV service Swisscom TV continues to grow, with its subscriber base reaching 469,000 at the end of March, compared with 275,000 a year earlier. The telco said it had 251,000 triple-play customers at the end of Q1, representing a 172,000 year-on-year growth.
Separately, the telco will broadcast the French Open in 3D on its Swisscom TV platform. All matches played on the centre court will be broadcast during the tournament, which takes place in Paris between May 22 and June 5. The telco is also adding HD versions of French channel TF1 and M6, along with UK channel BBC One HD to its line-up, taking the total number of HD channels available on the IPTV platform to 14. The additional channels are available at no extra charge.
