German pay TV service to close down

German DTH pay TV service Fernsehpaket from Alles Sehen TV is to shut down its operations. The service, which is encrypted in Conax and broadcast via the Eurobird 9° East position, will go off air at the end of May.

Two channels, Deutsche Musik Fernsehen and Gute Laune TV, will continue to be available as a standalone package from June. Four HD channels will also continue to be available from 9° East via a new Conax smartcard.

Alles Sehen TV launched in June 2009 as a low-cost alternative pay TV service, but failed to find a significant market.
