UPC leads as Hungarian digital TV market grows

Hungary had a total of 1,464,548 digital TV subscribers in February, up 15,000 on the previous month. Of the total, 576,730 took IPTV or cable services and 887,818 received DTH services.

According to data from Hungarian regulator the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, cable operator UPC had the largest market share amongst the top 12 service providers with 28.9%. It was followed by RCS&RDS’s Digi service with a share of 26.6% and Deutsche Telekom-owned T-home with a 24.8% share.
