Sky Deutschland hears complaints of small shareholders

Sky Deutschland CEO Brian Sullivan faced both criticism and praise at the pay TV operator’s latest AGM, according to local reports.

A number of Sky’s minority shareholders have complained about the lack of any immediate prospect of the broadcaster returning to profitability. Sky, which currently has about 2.6 million subscribers, needs an estimated three million to return to the black. While News Corp has invested in the company to fund new programming and subscriber acquisition, the pay TV operator is expected to remain in the red this year.
