The EBU has issued a call for the harmonization of internet-connected and hybrid TV technologies across Europe in order, it said, to deliver lower costs and promote greater choice and a better viewing experience.
The EBUs latest policy document has called for a harmonization effort across Europe that would allow broadcasters and content providers to link broadcast and on-demand content including catch-up TV.
ÂOnly common solutions will unlock the full potential of hybrid and connected TV and deliver the best possible experience for viewers and success for hybrid systems, said EBU director general Ingrid Deltenre. ÂIn addition, content must be easily accessible and displayed as the broadcaster intended.Â
