Bouygues brings internet to the Bbox

French service provider Bouygues Telecom is bringing web services to the TV after striking a deal with multiscreen software company Bluestreak.

Bluestreak will help to deliver internet services to Bouygues’s Bbox IPTV subscribers using its suite of MachBlue products, including MachBlue Classic and MachBlue XT. Della Miret, director of fixed and mobile services and fixed product delivery at Bouygues’s said the partnership would enable it to deliver both Flash and HTML5 content through a single interface, “reducing costs and accelerating time to market for new services”.

The Bbox offers over 220 television channels, including both free-to-air, premium, and HD channels, as well as access to internet content.

Separately, Bouygues is offering the channels available via the CanalSat platform to new Bbox Fiber customers for €1 for a year. The offer is available to new customers and existing customers upgrading to Bbox Fiber between April 18 and August 21.
