EBU appoints public affairs director

The European Broadcasting Union has announced the appointment of Ignasi Guardans as director public affairs and member relations.

Guardans, a seasoned political campaigner, having been both an MEP and Member of the Spanish parliament, was a member of the culture committees of both the European and Spanish parliaments. He was also director-general of the ICAA (Spanish Film Agency).

“This is an ideal moment and opportunity for me. I look forward to building on the EBU’s excellent track record in Brussels and internationally, and ensuring that the voice of Europe’s public broadcasters is heard in audiovisual policy discussions,” said Guardans.
