Com Hem On Demand sees growth, first 3D broadcast tonight

Com Hem has announced that its on-demand service is now available to over 1.5 million households. The Swedish cable operator is also broadcasting in 3D for the first time tonight.

Com Hem On Demand, which launched in May 2009, is now available to 30% of Swedish homes, the operator said. The service offers over 2,000 movie titles, including 80 in HD.

Separately, Com Hem will broadcast a football match in 3D tonight. Working with Canal Plus, the operator will deliver the match between local rivals Djurgården and AIK in 3D. It will be available to all customers with a HD set-top box and 3D TV.
