France Televisions to retain pre-primetime advertising

French public broadcaster France Televisions will be able to retain advertising during the daytime after the local government voted to reverse its total ad ban.

Authorities had originally planned to force the broadcaster to stop advertising during its daytime schedule to be in line with rules to ban advertising after 20.00. However, as a result of tough advertising conditions and global recession, the French parliament decided to reverse this move as part of finance legislation to be brought in next year.
