German cable operators Kabel BW and Unitymedia have separately announced new channel carriage deals.
Kabel BW will carry Turners new TNT HD channels, TNT Film HD and TNT Serie HD, on its networks in Baden-WÃ¼rttemberg from December 1. The channels will be included in Kabel BWÂs TV Komplett and TV Speilfilm & Serie packages. Kabel BW has also struck a deal for the carriage of UniversalÂs Syfy HD channel.
Unitymedia meanwhile has added Sport1 HD to its networks in North-Rhine Westphalia and Hesse. The channel will be available to igitual subscribers at no extra cost.
IPTV provider Deutsche Telekom is also planning to expand its HD offer. Interviewed by local press, marketing chief Christian Ilek said that the operator was in constructive talks with both ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL as well as pay TV channel providers for the additon of their HD channels to the platform.
