TV4 re-launches youth channel as TV11

Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 is to launch a new youth-oriented channel, TV11, on January 19, replacing its existing TV400 channel.

The pay TV channel, which will feature a mix of entertainment and film programming, including the Swedish version of Big Brother, is targeted at the 15-39 age range. TV4 recently signed a multi-year agreement with Warner Bros for TV and film content, and some content from that deal will feature on the new channel.

Other shows to be aired on TV11 will include Californication, 30 Rock, American Idol and Mixed Signals. Movies will include Borat, X-Men and No Country for Old Men.

Anton Glanzelius, previously head of programming at TV4 Plus, has been named as programme director.
