MTG launches VOD service on connected TVs

Scandinavia-focused broadcaster MTG has inked a deal with LG Electronics and launched its video-on-demand service on the South Korean TV set manufacturer’s connected TVs.

The VOD service is available from today on the appropriate LG sets and customers can access TV series from TV3, TV6 and TV8 Swedish channels, TV3 and TV3+ Danish channels and about 200 movies as well. Customers will also be able to pay for pay-per-view sports events and subscribe to Viasat packages through the connected TVs.


Hans-Holger Albrecht, president and CEO of MTG, said: “The cooperation with LG is a key step in broadening the availability of our Viasat OnDemand service, which is already accessible through Viasat’s OnDemand set-top box, our online portal, on mobile phones and now also directly via broadband-enabled TV sets.
