Portugal Telecom sees strong TV growth

Portugal Telecom has added 188,000 pay TV customers over the first nine months of the year, taking its total to 769,000, a figure that represents almost 80% penetration of its fixed-line broadband base.

The telco’s Meo TV service now has a market share of 28.5%. Portugal Telecom said that the Meo triple-play offer had helped slow down fixed-line attrition.

Third-quarter fixed-line revenues grew 0.1% to €482 million, with retail revenues, including Meo, amounting to €241 million.
