Eutelsat maintains double-digit revenue growth
Satellite operator Eutelsat posted first quarter revenues of 285.6 million, up 12.9% year-on-year.
While video service revenues grew by 8.1% to Â195.5 million, data and value-added services grew by 23.5% to Â58.9 million and multi-usage revenues, particularly for capacity in the Middle East and central Asia, grew by 25.8% to Â28.8 million.
Michel de Rosen, Eutelsat CEO said, “Eutelsat once again delivered double-digit revenue growth, reflecting the dynamism of all the Group’s markets, each of which reported a significant rise in sales. These quarterly revenues are in line with our expectations, underpinned by the full effect of the W7 satellite.Â
The company added 92 HDTV channels and 279 standard-definition channels in the period. Eutelsat confirmed its existing financial objectives for the current year and for the 2010-13 period.
