Orange quad-play offer pulls in subscribers

France Telecom/Orange has reported strong success for its recently-launched quad-play offer, Orange Open, signing up 99,000 subscribers in the 45 days after the service launched. Orange is offering a range of five packages including triple-play plus a mobile package. The service was launched on August 10.

Orange France had 3.23 million digital TV customers at the end of the quarter to September 30, up 27% year-on-year. Orange France had 1.703 million pay-TV customers, up by 13,000 quarter-on-quarter. However, the Orange Cinéma Series and Orange Sport Series channels (now for sale, most likely in the case of the cinema channels to Canal Plus) lost 16,000 customers, taking them to 736,000.

Digital TV customers in Poland, where Orange recently signed a partnership agreement with broadcaster TVN, numbered 497,000, up 76% year-on-year.
