Vectra eyes Multimedia Polska

Polish cable operator Vectra, which had been named as a possible buyer for Mid Europa Partners-backed cabler Aster, may be looking at the acquisition of Multimedia Polska as a possible alternative, according to local reports.

Local press cited Vectra president Tomasz Zuranski as saying that a merger with Multimedia Polska could be a more attractive option from the point of view of profitability. Vectra has reportedly accumulated funds totalling PLN1.8 billion ((€456 million) that could be used to finance a takeover.
