Arris upgrade delivers faster downstream speeds

Cable technology company Arris has announced a number of upgrades to its C4 cable modem termination system.

Arris has upgraded the downstream density of the DOCSIS 3.0 device, enabling speeds of up to 304Mbps for North American operators and 400Mbps for European operators with eight-channel bonding.

Arris has also added IPv6 support, seen as crucial to meet the growing problem of a shortage of available IP addresses for individual network-attached devices.

Separately Arris has launched a new software product, ServAssure Compass, for outage detection and additional management features as part of its service management product.
