Deutsche Telekom-owned Greek telco OTE has announced the deployment of the countrys first next-generation access network.
OTE will roll out a fibre-to-the-cabinet/VDSL2-based network in the municipalities of Alexandroupoli, Komotini, Xanthi, Serres and the Athens suburb of Zografou, capable of delivering internet speeds of 30Mbps and 50Mbps. About 1,000 cabinets will be installed and connected via fibre, enabling the offering of new access speeds to more than 125,000 homes and businesses, according to OTE.
