Telefónica has chosen IP middleware supplier Oregan Networks to provide client-side middleware for over-the-top video in Spain and internationally.
Telefónica plans to use over-the-top connectivity to provide an additional selling point for TV services in its overseas markets, which represent 64% of its customer base, in particular.
The solution offered by Oregan will allow Telefónica’s broadband consumers to easily search and playback content from various sources using Telefónica’s high speed broadband access, including personal home devices, mobile appliances, TV programme catch-up services and premium pay-per-view video libraries.
