KPN eyes new chief executive as Scheepbouwer retires

Dutch telco and IPTV operator KPN is searching for a new chief executive after Ad Scheepbouwer announced that he will retire next year. A number of external candidates are reported on the shortlist including Deutsche Telekom exec Niek Jan ten Damme and Telenet chief executive Duco Sickinghe, although Sickinghe has reportedly ruled out a move.

There are also a number of internal candidates reported to be in talks including board member Eelco Blok and Baptiest Coopmans. This comes after Scheepbouwer said that he would prefer an internal appointment.
