GlobeCast launches global network PoP in Warsaw

Broadcast services provider GlobeCast has established a new point-of-presence in Warsaw for its fibre network, the GlobeCast Backbone Network (GCBN), in response to growing demand, it said.

The new fibre link from Paris to Warsaw will enable the distribution of international HD channels by Polish cable operators, according to GlobeCast. It will also enable Polish channels looking to grow their international audience to more easily access GlobeCast teleports and satellite platforms, including Eutelsat’s Hot Bird platform.
The point-of-presence is the 33rd for the network following the launch of PoPs in Johannesburg and São Paolo earlier this year.
