Motive Television acquires NXVision

Motive Television, the digital-terrestrial TV technology company backed by former CME CEO Len Fertig and former Chrysalis TV chief Mick Pillsworth, has entered into an agreement to acquire Dunfermline, Scotland-based technology company NXVision from its liquidator for £10,000 (€12,000) in cash.

NXVision had developed a ‘place-shifting’ technology to allow internet connected devices and mobile phones to capture and display programming available on a home set-top box or internet-connected TV. Motive, which holds global distribution rights outside Spain and Italy to Bestv, a platform designed to enable the delivery of on-demand to non-connected DTT set-tops, plans to form a joint venture with NXVision’s founders to exploit the latter’s assets and integrate its technology with the Bestv platform.
