Verimatrix licenses Microsoft PlayReady DRM

Content security specialist Verimatrix has announced that is has licensed Microsoft PlayReady digital rights management in order to provide integrated MultiRights support for devices that support the DRM.

Microsoft PlayReady is the latest DRM technology that Verimatrix is supporting through its MultiRights strategy. PlayReady technology is currently protecting content for service providers including Netflix, BSkyB’s SkyPlayer, Yahoo! Japan and Canal Plus.

Verimatrix’s MultiRights solution mediates different DRM technologies on multiple networks and devices through a single set of VCAS subscriber entitlements interfaces and web services APIs.
