Fibre network operator TeliaSonera International Carrier has announced a partnership with UK-based broadcast services provider Arqiva to enable cross traffic delivery between the formers Media Connect service ArqivaÂs satellite distribution platform.
Arqiva will provide TeliaSonera International Carrier with an STM-1 fibre link between its Newman Street location and TeliaSonera International CarrierÂs Telehouse North Facility in LondonÂs Docklands. Deploying broadcast delivery equipment at the Newman Street premises, TeliaSonera International Carrier will be able to pass customer feeds and access ArqivaÂs teleports for satellite distribution. This will enable clients of both parties to distribute and supply content globally.
Arqiva opertates ten international teleports, over 100 earth stations, satellite capacity and a global terrestrial fibre network.Â TeliaSonera International CarrierÂs Media Connect service is an international fibre based media network designed for broadcast, high quality video distribution. It enables the delivery of HD broadcast quality video content across more than 100 points of presence in 35 countries across Europe, the US and Asia, and through more than 27,000 miles of optical fibre network.
