Bertelsmann ups stake in RTL Group

German media conglomerate Bertelsmann has confirmed that it has raised its holding in broadcaster RTL Group but denied that this was a strategic move, according to reports. The company now holds 91.2% of RTL Group, up from 90.5%.

On Wednesday, RTL posted €257m net profit in the first six months after a €105m loss a year earlier.
