Hot seeks transfer of network assets

Israel-based cable operator Hot has asked telco Bezeq to open talks on the transfer of control of infrastructure controlled by the latter that Hot uses to deliver its services, according to local reports.

Hot, controlled by cable investor Patrick Drahi, is keen to acquire its own infrastructure rather than pay what it sees as excessive rental and maintenance costs, according to the reports. Of the three cable companies that were grouped together to form Hot, Golden Lines and Tevel used Bezeq’s network in certain locations, while Matav built its own network.
