UPC adds SBS HD channels

Dutch cable operator UPC is boosting its high-definition service after striking a deal with SBS Broadcasting to carry a number of its channels.

The cabler will air Net 5 HD, SBS 6 HD and Veronica HD later this year, taking the total number of high-definition channels on its service to 20. The company will begin by offering catch up services from all three channels on its platform. This comes weeks after the operator agreed to carry the Dutch football league’s new HD service, Eredivisie Live HD.
