Spanish media group Prisa could be forced to divest its stake in pay-TV platform Digital Plus by Telefónica and Mediaset-owned Telecinco, according to local reports.
Under agreements struck last year that saw Telefónica and Telecinco each acquire a 22% stake in the pay-TV operator, Prisa could be forced to sell its remaining stake if there was a change in ownership of the media conglomerate. Earlier this year, Prisa struck a merger deal with US-based Liberty Acquisition Holding ahead of a planned flotation on the New York stock exchange.
