German football league mulls own channel launch
The German Football League (DFL) is considering launching its own TV channel as it fears for the future of News Corp-backed pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland.Â
Wolfsburg boss Thomas Röttgermann told local press that it fear that the pay-TV operators financial problems will force it to reduce payments to the clubs. ÂThe clubs are strong enough to create its own TV channel. DFL should work on the scenario of its own TV channel, he said.
