BT failing to make headway with Sky Sports, says analyst
BT has failed to make a significant impact with its new offer of BSkyBs sports channels, according to UK press.
City analyst Will Draper of Execution Noble told a Sunday newspaper that the telco was on track to sign up only about 60,000 new subscribers to the BT Vision service as a result of the launch of an unbundled offer of Sky Sports 1 and 2, which followed regulator OfcomÂs ruling that pay-TV provider BSkyB had to supply the channels to rivals at a regulated wholesale rate.
BT is offering each channel for £6.99 (Â8.50), but only to customers who sign up for a two-year contract with BT broadband.
