Vintage TV launches with GlobeCast

New channel Vintage TV is set to launch in the UK on September 1 on the Sky pay-TV platform and Freesat DTT service, with GlobeCast providing content management solutions. 

Vintage TV is billed as a music and popular culture channel targeting those aged over 50 years. Dedicated to the five decades from the 1940s to 1980s, the channel will broadcast a mix of music-themed original programming, specially created music videos, classic programmes, films and documentaries.

GlobeCast will provide playout and origination of the channel from its broadcast centre in central London. The signal will then be aggregated and multiplexed before being delivered via fibre to GlobeCast’s teleport in Brookman’s Park where it will be uplinked to the Sky platform on Eutelsat’s Eurobird 1 satellite.
