French digital-terrestrial multiplex to extend reach

French media regulator the CSA has announced plans to extend the coverage of its R2 digital-terrestrial multiplex in agreement with channels Direct 8, France 4, BFM TV, i>télé, Virgin 17 and Gulli, and the multiplex’s operating company, Nouvelles Télévisions Numériques.

The extension of the multiplex’s reach to 95% of the country, in line with the reach of multiplexes R1, R4 and R6, will take place by the end of 2011.
