UK communications regulator Ofcom has designated the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) as the body in charge of regulating advertising on video-on-demand services in the UK.
Ofcom has already said that industry association ATVOD will co-regulate the UK VOD sector and any company wishing to provide a VOD service must submit a notification to ATVOD. Meanwhile, from September, issues relating to advertising on VOD services should be referred to the ASA.
