Hot chooses Teleste for fibre upgrade

Finland based broadband technology provider Teleste has been chosen to supply fibre-network equipment to Israeli cable operator Hot Telecom.

Hot will use Teleset’s equipment as part of its FTTx upgrade covering two million homes. The operator plans to migrate from HFC to a fibre-based architecture to offer up to 100Mbps internet access, video-on-demand, voice services and HDTV.

The value of the agreement, which will see Teleset supply its HDO platform, AC800 and CXE880 optical FTTB nodes, was estimated at €16m over four years.
