BBC WW Channels appoints South Asia head

BBC Worldwide Channels has appointed Deepak Shourie as director, BBC Worldwide Channels, South Asia.

The commercial arm of public broadcaster the BBC said the appointment reinforced its long-term commitment to India as a priority territory for its business. Based in New Delhi, Shourie will take on responsibility for BBC Worldwide Channel operations across South Asia. He joins from Discovery Communications India, where he was vice-president and managing director.
