TF1 raises revenue target
French commercial broadcaster TF1 has raised its full year revenue target as a result of rising advertising revenues. The company posted an 11% increase in advertising revenues to 765m as well as a rise in operating profit, boosted by the soccer World Cup.
The broadcaster now expects to see full year revenue increase by 7% to Â2.35 billion, compared with its earlier target of 4%. The new target also takes into account the consolidation of digital terrestrial channels TMC and NT1.
Programming costs at the Bouyges-owned broadcaster were Â483 million in the first half compared to Â455 million last year as a result of increased costs due to the World Cup. Excluding sporting events, TF1 made Â33 million of programming cost savings.
