UK OFT to probe Sky’s Virgin deal

The UK Office of Fair Trading will examine pay-TV operator BSkyB’s deal to acquire the TV channels grouped under the Virgin Media Television banner.

The £160m (€189m) deal has received preliminary regulatory approval, but the OFT will investigate whether the deal is in accordance with the Enterprise Act. It is seeking comments from interested parties.
