Tele Columbus has announced plans to upgrade its network to offer triple-play services in the town of Bernburg in Saxony-Anhalt.
The German cable operator will spend 1.7m upgrading the network. Work will start in August and be complete by the end of 2011 by which time 7,000 households will be able to receive broadband, telephony services and digital TV channels, including HD channels. About 5,000 households will be able to receive these services by the end of 2010.
