N24 takeover gets green light

Germany’s Federal Cartel Office has green-lighted the takeover of German news channel N24.

A consortium comprising N24 management and Stefan Aust, the former editor-in-chief of German magazine Der Spiegel, said earlier this year it wanted to buy the channel from German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1. The Cartel Office subsequently had to approve Aust’s involvement and having given the relevant clearances, the deal can now proceed.
