Hungary continues digital TV penetration

Hungary was home to 2.527 million TV subscribers in May, up from 2.517 million in April, according to a report by regulator NHH.

The number of cable subscribers of the service providers included in the report rose to 1.741 million in May from 1.739 million in the previous month. Of these subscriptions 454,288 were for digital services (including IPTV) and 1.287 million were for analogue services. The number of people using satellite services increased to 785,959 from 778,006 in April.

In May, the total number of digital households in Hungary increased by 15,000 to 1.24 million from 1.225 million in April. UPC remained the market leader with a market share of 30.7%, down from 30.9 percent in April.
