RDF exec named as Cbeebies Investment chief

Former RDF kids exec Henrietta Hurford-Jones has left the UK producer and distributor to join BBC Worldwide as director of CBeebies Investment. Jones, who will report to senior vice-president, programming and TV channels David Weiland, will manage the global investment process for all of the company’s programming.

This comes as BBC Worldwide is keen to ramp up the amount of locally produced content available on its six international feeds of its kids channels CBeebies. This follows the launch of the international network’s first original commission, Penelope K, By The Way, which was produced by Australian indie Blink Films in association with BBC Worldwide-owned producer Freehand Media.

Hurford-Jones was previously director, international kids and family at RDF Media and before that she was at Jetix Europe and JimJam.
