Astra signs Wibox broadband deal

Satellite operator SES Astra has signed a deal with French WiMAX operator Wibox for the distribution of its satellite-based broadband service Astra2Connect.

Wibox will offer Astra’s broadband service to residential customers, small and home offices, and small and medium enterprises. Marketing will begin in July.

In addition to interactive broadband access, Astra said users will also benefit from VoIP telephony and TV reception from Astra’s orbital position 19.2° East.
