History strikes fresh Bulgarian carriage deal

The History channel will launch of satellite pay TV platform Bulsatcom after AETN UK inked a carriage deal with the company. This comes one week after the channel, which is a joint venture between US broadcaster A&E and British pay broadcaster BSkyB, launched on Total TV, Bulsatcom’s chief rival.

The channel is also available in the country via the Eurocom Cable platform, after launching a localised service last year. The channel will air series including Battles BC and Life After People.

“We are delighted to be working with Bulsatcom. They are committed to enhancing their service and providing their subscribers with quality channels and we look forward to working with them to achieve this goal,” said Christina Foley, commercial director, AETN UK.
